Lelit Elizabeth: Testing the Coffee Boiler High-limit SwitchUpdated 5 months ago
Tools needed:
- T20 Torx driver
- Small flathead screwdriver
- Multimeter or simple continuity tester
NOTE: The machine should be unplugged and cool to the touch before beginning.
2. Identify the high-limit switch on top of the coffee boiler.
2. Carefully use a finger to press down on the circular button in the center of the high-limit switch, making sure it is fully depressed. Feeling a slight "click" when pressing this button indicates that the switch was tripped.
3. If the button doesn't appear to have tripped, but the coffee boiler still fails to heat, test for continuity across the switch's poles. Start by flipping the tops of the protective covers up.
Then touch one probe from your multimeter or continuity tester to each of the two spade connectors on both high limit switches. A lack of continuity, even when the center button is fully depressed, indicates a faulty high-limit switch; replace as necessary.
