LUCCA M58: Joystick Inspection and CleaningUpdated 6 months ago
Tools Needed:
- Large adjustable wrench
- Shop towel or hand towel
- Pick or similar implement
- Molykote food-safe lubricant
1. Start with the machine powered off and cool to the touch. Identify the joystick stem and tapered retaining nut.
2. Drape the towel over the joystick assembly and turn the tapered nut with the large adjustable wrench.
3. Make sure that the inside of the tapered nut and the joystick stem are clean and free of debris.
4. Remove the joystick plunger from the steam/hot water arm. Check for any debris. If the lubricant shows signs of age—discolored, crumbly—wipe it off.
5. Remove the joystick spring from the steam/hot water arm. Check for any debris. If the lubricant shows signs of age—discolored, crumbly—wipe it off.
6. Don't forgot to check for debris and/or old lubricant inside the steam/hot water arm.
7. Reapply a liberal amount of food-safe lubricant to the spring and plunger, then use this guide in reverse to reassemble.
